CA21103 Implementation of Circular Economy in the Built Environment
The COST Action CircularB is committed to developing an
international circularity framework for inclusive operation
and assessment of buildings. The framework will include a
circularity rating tool with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
that can benefit various countries and regions. This will
facilitate decision-making for stakeholders and evaluate the
effectiveness of the European CE Action Plan.
CircularB intends to fill the gap between standardized tools
and activities, maximizing circularity in construction. While
efforts have been made, there is still a lack of comprehensive
frameworks for the circular economy in the built
environment. CircularB proposes a consistent approach to
CE assessment, identifying areas for improvement and
prioritizing actions for a transition to circular thinking.
