Sporcularda Yüksek Şiddetli Egzersiz Sonrası Melatonin Kullanımının Uyku Kalitesi Ve Toparlanma Üzerine Etkilerinin Araştırılması
Delayed-onset muscle soreness presents a significant obstacle for athletes during sports competitions. Recent evidence suggests that recovery from muscle soreness is crucial for achieving improved performance and primarily depends on quality sleep. Qualitative sleep is essential for maintaining a healthy, long life and overall well-being, as well as for supporting athletes' muscle recovery, adaptation, focus, and enhanced performance. However, sleep quality is often disrupted after high-intensity exercise and competitions due to muscle soreness. In our study, we aimed to evaluate the effects of improving sleep quality and sleep cycles through melatonin supplementation on muscle damage parameters in active athletes.
