Söz varlığı, kısaca bir dildeki sözlerin tümü, söz hazinesi, söz dağarcığı olarak tanımlanabilir. Bir toplumun dili söz varlığı açısından incelenerek o toplumla ilgili zengin bilgiler elde edilebilir. Bununla birlikte bir sanatçının sahip olduğu söz dağarcığı, dili kullanma yetisi mutlaka eserine yansır ve bir yazarın başarısı eserinde kullandığı dille paraleldir. Bu da eser üzerine yapılan söz varlığı çalışmalarıyla ortaya konur. Bu sebeple eserlerin söz varlığı bakımından incelenmesi önem taşır. Bu çalışmada, Yaşar Kemal'in Yağmurcuk Kuşu adlı romanının; deyimler, ikilemeler, kalıp sözler ve yöre ağzına ait sözcükler bağlamında incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmanın Giriş kısmında söz varlığı kavramı üzerinde durulmuş, Birinci Bölümde Yaşar Kemal'in Hayatı, Sanatı, Eserleri ve Üslubu hakkında bilgiler verilmiştir. Çalışmanın İkinci Bölümünde ise eser; deyimler, ikilemeler, kalıp sözler ve yöre ağzına ait sözcükler bağlamında incelenmiştir. Sonuç bölümünde elde edilen veriler ortaya konulmuştur.
Vocabulary is briefly identified as the entire word in a language, vocab, active vocabulary. Enriched knowledge can be obtained about the society by analyzing the language of that society in terms of vocabulary. At the same time, the vocabulary that an artist possesses, the ability of using a language certainly reflect on his work, and the achievement of an author is parallel to the language which he uses in his work. And this is put forth through the vocabulary studies which are made on the work. Therefore, it matters to analyze the works in terms of vocabulary. In this study, it is aimed to analyze Yaşar Kemal's novel named Yağmurcuk Kuşu with in the context of idioms, reduplications, phrases and the words that belong to the local dialect. The vocabulary notion is emphasized in the entrance of the study. It is informed about the Yaşar Kemal's life, art, works and wording in the first part; in the second part of the study, the novel is analyzed in the context of idioms, reduplications, phrases and the words that belong to the local dialect. And in the conclusion part, data that were obtained is put forth.
