Yüzyıllar boyunca geniş bir coğrafyada hakimiyet kurmuş olan Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun sosyal, dini ve ekonomik düzeninin gelişmesinde en etkili olan unsurlardan biri de vakıf kurumlarıdır. Bu kurumlar sayesinde Osmanlı İmparatorluğu hakimiyet altına almış olduğu geniş coğrafyanın alt yapısı ile sosyal ve dini hizmetlerini eksiksiz bir şekilde yerine getirebilmiştir. Bu minvalde vakıflara ait önemli bilgileri içerisinde barındıran hurufat defterleri; Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun şehirlerde ve kırsal bölgelerde nasıl bir sistem kurduğuna dair önemli bilgiler ihtiva etmektedir. Bu çalışmada esas alınan 1197 numaralı Rumeli Hurufat Defteri transkribe edilmek suretiyle detaylı bir şekilde incelenmiş ve Rumeli'deki vakıflarla alakalı bilgiler, tablolar ve istastiki bilgiler ışığında değerlendirilmiştir.
One of the influential elements in the development of the social, religious and economic order of the Ottoman Empire, which had dominated a wide geography for centuries, was the foundationinstitutions. Thanks to these institutions, the Ottoman Empire was able to fully fulfill the infrastructure, social and religious services of the wide geography that it dominated. In this respect, the Hurufat notebooks which contain important information about the foundations; It contains important information about how the OttomanEmpire established a system in cities and rural areas. The Rumeli Hurufat Book numbered 1197, which was taken as a basis in this study, wastranscribed and analyzed in detail, and the information about the foundations in Rumelim was evaluated in the light of tables and statistical information
