Bu çalışmada Polygonaceae familyasına ait Polygonum L. ve Rumex L. cinsinin 14 türü polen morfolojileri ışık ve taramalı elektron mikroskobunda incelenmiştir. Bu türlerin taksonomik problemlerine, palinolojik bilgilerle çözüm aranmıştır. Yapılan palinolojik araştırmalar sonucu çalışılan Polygonum L. cinsine ait bazı taksonların polenleri; 3-kolpat, 3-kolporat, pantoporat, polen şekillerinin; oblat-sferoidal, prolat, prolat-sferoidal, tektat, ekzin yüzeyi ise mikroekinat-perforat ve serbest kolumellalı retikulat olduğu gözlenmiştir. Rumex L. cinsine ait bazı taksonların polenleri; 3-kolporat, nadiren 4-kolporat, polen şekillerinin oblat-sferoidal, suboblat, tektat, ekzin yüzeyi ise mikroekinat-perforat olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

In this study, pollen morphologies of 14 species of Polygonum L. and Rumex L. genus belonging to Polygonaceae family were investigated under light and scanning electron microscopy. Solutions to taxonomic problems of these species were sought with palynological information. Pollens of some taxa belonging to the genus Polygonum L. were studied as a result of palynological researches; 3-colpate, 3-colporate, pantoporate, pollen grains shapes; oblate-spheroidal, prolate, prolate-spheroidal, tectate, exine surface were microechinate-perforate and reticulate with the free-standing columella. Pollen grains of some taxa belonging to Rumex L. genus; 3-colporate, rarely 4-colporate, pollen shapes are oblate-spheroidal, suboblate, tectate, and exine surface are microechinate-perforate.
